We consider Green Building “Smart Building”. Although upfront costs may slightly exceed those of a conventional build, the payback is short (especially here in Florida) and delivers a lifetime of energy savings.
You may be asking yourself…WHAT exactly makes a structure “Green“?…and WHY should I care?
According to the U.S. Green Building Council, “Generally, green homes are healthier, more comfortable, more durable, and more energy efficient and have a much smaller environmental footprint than conventional homes.”…Huh?…Well…okay…and why should I care again?
Well, you DO want your home to “have a much smaller environmental footprint than conventional homes”….don’t you??? FYI…A “carbon footprint” is defined as – the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases you generate annually”…What? so now I’ve got to have a background in Chemistry and a device that measures my “gas output” to figure out if Green Building is worth it. Um…No Thanks!
Still confused? So was I…listen…if you’re familiar with any of the terms or features below, you already know what Green Building is (regardless of what the Government tells you)!
